Donation of books to Ukrainian Universities

Last year we received an E-mail from Ukraine, from an American Peace
volunteer working at a University in the city of Kryvyj Rih in Ukraine. She is
helping them organize a library and asked us if we could help with donating
books. You were very generous with your response, and we collected more than
200 books. You also donated money to pay for the shipment of the books when
we went caroling in January. Thanks to one of our members, Larysa Pevna, who
works at the School of Medicine at UNC, we also got a lot of books on medicine
and public health. As the university at Kryvyj Rih does not have a School of
Medicine or of Public Health, we decided to donate these books to the National
University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, as they recently opened the first School of
Public Heath in Ukraine. This Sunday, April 22, 2007, starting at 11:30 AM, we
will gather all the books at the Church in Garner, NC, and get them ready for
shipping to Ukraine.
