Church News – Christmas 2007
The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha in Garner, NC will
have a Christmas service on January 7, 2007 at 7:30 AM. The service will be
celebrated in Ukrainian by father Mykola Dobrutskyj from Ukraine. After the service we
will gather in the parish hall; please bring traditional Ukrainian Christmas food and
drinks to share. For those who celebrated Christmas on December 25, regular mass in
English will be held at 11:00 AM.
The church is located at 8312 White Oak Rd., Garner NC.:
Exit 306 of I-40 and take Hwy 70 to Garner. At the first light turn left on White Oak Rd,
and after about one mile turn right on Laurob Lane.
According to Ukrainian traditions, carolers from our Association will be visiting the
homes of our members on Friday, January 5, evening and Sunday, January 7,
afternoon. Please let us know if you DO NOT wish to be visited by the carolers. We will
be collecting money for two causes: the new Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in
Garner and to cover shipping costs to send books to schools in Ukraine. If you have
books in English (or Ukrainian, Spanish or French) that you would like to donate,
please have them ready and we will be glad to collect them on January 5 or 7, 2007 (or
you can send an E-mail to: olehw@aol.com or urjlew@bellsouth.net ).
