"Holodomor and other lesser known genocides"

On Friday, February 13, 2009, at the conference of the North Carolina Council of high
school Social Studies teachers, Mrs. Vera A Bej, Distinguished Educator from
Pennsylvania, presented with great success a specially designed curriculum for the
study of the Holodomor and other lesser known genocides. The lecture attracted a big
audience and every seat in the room was taken. Participants expressed strong interest
in the topic, asked many questions and provided Ms.Bej with great feedback.Special
thanks to Dorothy and Elroy Conrad, who did a great job in helping organize the event.

The organization of the event was suggested by Dr. Jacqueline Olich, Associate
Director of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian & East European Studies of UNC Chapel Hill
and sponsored by the Ukrainian Association of North Carolina.  Funding was provided
by the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (Larissa Kej and Michael Sawkiw).

Mrs. Vera A.Bej kindly gave North Carolina Ukrainian Association permission to place
Curriculum and some other materials from her presentation on the website.
